RateRun Reviews, Ratings, and the Embeddable Widget

Reviews are the backbone of trust in the RateRun Directory. They help potential clients decide who to hire, and they give freelancers social proof that brings in more work. RateRun also includes an embeddable review widget so you can display your reviews on your own website.

How reviews work

Any logged-in user can leave a review on a listing. Each review includes a 1 to 5 star rating and a written comment. Reviews are public — they show the reviewer’s name, the date, and the full text on the listing page.

The listing’s overall rating is an average of all reviews, displayed prominently at the top of the profile. The more reviews you have, the more credible your listing looks to potential clients.

Build trust with real reviews

Every review strengthens your profile. Ask happy clients to leave a rating.

Leaving a review

To leave a review, visit any listing page and scroll to the reviews section. Pick your star rating, write your comment, and submit. It appears on the listing immediately.

Reviews should be honest and based on real experience. The directory is most useful when the ratings reflect genuine quality.

The embeddable review widget

RateRun provides a review widget that you can embed on your own website. It pulls in your latest reviews from the directory and displays them in a clean, self-contained card that matches any site design.

The widget is a single JavaScript snippet — paste it into your site’s HTML and it handles everything. It loads your reviews, renders the stars, and updates automatically when new reviews come in. No API keys, no complex setup.

Setting up the widget

From your Manage Listing page, you will find the widget embed code. It looks something like this:

<div id="raterun-reviews"></div>n<script src="https://raterun.net/wp-content/plugins/raterun-directory/assets/js/widget.js" data-listing="your-slug"></script>

Paste this wherever you want your reviews to appear — your homepage, a testimonials page, or a sidebar. The widget handles CORS automatically, so it works on any domain.

Show your reviews everywhere

Embed your RateRun reviews on your own website with one line of code.

The widget is self-contained — it brings its own styles and does not interfere with your existing CSS. It is designed to look good on any dark or light background.

Why reviews matter

For freelancers, reviews are the fastest way to build credibility. A listing with five genuine reviews will outperform one with none, every time. They reduce the risk for clients and make the decision to hire you much easier.

By embedding the widget on your own site, you bring that social proof directly to your audience — no need for them to find you on RateRun first.

Reviews build trust. Trust wins work.
