Susan Stevison Photography Available

Susan Stevison Photography operates out of a historic downtown loft at 636 Main Street in Pineville, bringing a deliberate, transparent approach to portraiture and commercial assignments across Central Louisiana. Founded by photojournalist Susan Stevison—who began behind the lens in 1992 before establishing her portrait studio in 2001—the practice emphasizes clear project scopes and structured pricing over ambiguous estimates. Stevison, a Certified Professional Photographer through the Professional Photographers of America and president of the Professional Photographers of Louisiana, structures client engagements around documented planning phases rather than spontaneous shooting, establishing wardrobe options, lighting requirements, and technical boundaries prior to the shoot date.

The studio handles high school senior portraits, multi-generational family groupings, child milestone sessions, maternity, and commercial branding. Every project begins with an upfront feasibility evaluation during a dedicated pre-session planning consultation, where location logistics, apparel selections, and background pairings are reviewed to establish realistic expectations. Inside the vintage loft, high ceilings and large windows accommodate natural ambient lighting alongside controlled studio strobes, while an adjoining shaded courtyard allows for immediate transitions to outdoor natural-light portraiture. Stevison directly evaluates environmental variables, wardrobe suitability, and posing requirements to ensure the planned concepts match real-world lighting conditions and deliver archival print longevity.

Standard portrait packages are clearly defined rather than bundled into vague hourly blocks. Senior and family bookings offer dedicated studio-only or combined indoor and courtyard sessions ranging between one and two hours, complete with unlimited background choices, clothing changes, and posing variations. For commercial clients and commissioned projects, image rights, color grading protocols, and technical deliverables are negotiated and itemized before production commences. This structured clarity prevents unexpected fees, giving subjects a precise breakdown of session investments and product fulfillment timelines before any lights are powered on.

Client sessions and pre-portrait consultations run on an appointment-only schedule from Monday through Friday. Following the completion of a portrait session, Stevison prepares proofs for an in-person ordering session scheduled within one to two weeks, where clients review high-resolution proofs, select archival print finishes, and finalize digital licensing. Clients preparing for initial consultations should gather specific wardrobe ideas, color palettes, and wall display dimensions in advance, as defining intended display spaces and styling early expedites composition planning and ensures smooth ordering turnarounds.
