Donna & Larry's Flowers Available

Donna & Larry's Flowers manages cut-flower mechanics, event staging, and everyday floral design from its workshop on Novi Road in Northville. The studio structures its daily workflow around early morning wholesale arrivals, prioritizing cold-chain handling and stem conditioning over pre-packaged arrangements. By sourcing varied seasonal varieties alongside standard long-stem roses and lilies, the design bench creates customized visual work ranging from low-profile tablescapes and hand-tied presentation bouquets to extensive standing tributes for memorial services across western Wayne and Oakland counties.

Every shipment entering the facility undergoes immediate post-harvest processing designed to maximize bloom longevity. Stems receive a fresh diagonal cut under sanitizing conditions, foliage below the intended waterline is systematically stripped to inhibit bacterial propagation, and botanicals are graded into hydration coolers calibrated to specific humidity thresholds. In construction, florists rely on solid structural foundations—whether utilizing heavy cage mechanics, specialized floral foam, or sustainable kenzan pin frogs—to ensure tall delphiniums, gladioli, and weighted greenery stay anchored through transport and temperature fluctuations.

For custom event assignments, memorial services, and holiday orders, planning ahead is necessary to secure rare palette varieties or off-season stems. The shop advises clients seeking customized event styling to schedule consultations three to six weeks prior to the date, while everyday deliveries typically require a 24-hour window for optimal sourcing. Customers calling to arrange orders should come prepared with specific vessel dimensions, venue ambient temperatures, and color restrictions to allow the floral team to select stems at the exact stage of opening required for the occasion.
