Handling diverse fabric weights demands calibrated tooling and disciplined execution. Tailoring suit jackets, for example, often involves resetting sleeve heads, narrowing shoulders, and flattening collar rolls—procedures that require carefully opening the lining, redistributing chest canvas, and hand-basting pad stitching before machine closure. For fragile textiles such as silk, lace overlays, or organza, Nelly utilizes microtex needles, fine thread tensions, and French seams to prevent puckering or thread fraying. In contrast, tailoring denim trousers requires matching original thread weights, replicating factory wash fades, and reinstalling original hem edges to retain authentic aesthetics.

Fittings take place by appointment during weekday studio hours, which run Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Garments are pinned directly on the body while the client stands in natural posture. To ensure accurate hem lengths and structural balance, clients must bring the exact shoes, foundational undergarments, and belts intended for the finished outfit to their initial consultation, as variations in heel height or bra shape immediately distort alteration baselines.
