Flowers and Such, . Available

Flowers and Such conducts its floral business through direct, storefront order intake designed to eliminate wire-service fees and corporate order gatherers. Operating on West Broadway Avenue in Maryville, the Filipino-American family-run studio grounds its consultation model on straightforward pricing and botanical reality. Lead designer Jun Salinas, accredited by the American Institute of Floral Designers in 2004, guides clients through realistic project parameters based on seasonal availability, stem durability, and temperature conditions. Rather than selling generic catalog imagery that relies on out-of-season imports, the shop establishes clear botanical expectations from the initial conversation, detailing stem counts, container specifications, and upfront pricing.

Daily design operations avoid the industry practice of drop-shipping boxed stems in cardboard packaging, delivering fully composed, hand-arranged vessels that are hydrated and ready for display. The shop's portfolio spans structured arrangements, such as the Buzzing Sunflower Bouquet, Autumn Birdhouse Garden, and architectural glass terrariums, alongside extensive sympathy and memorial work. When clients request custom arrangements or event displays, Salinas evaluates stem viability, structural balance, and vessel architecture before taking commitments. If specific focal flowers are out of season or fragile under forecasted regional weather, the shop enforces an explicit substitution policy: replacement blooms must match or exceed the original value, and in single-variety designs, botanical variety takes strict precedence over minor color variations.

For complex orders and sympathy commissions across East Tennessee funeral homes—ranging from McCammon-Ammons-Click and Smith Funeral & Cremation Service to regional venues in Knoxville and Sevierville—the team works directly from facility schedules rather than generalized delivery windows. Sympathy work receives scheduled coordination, including specialized Sunday fulfillment for memorial services when the retail storefront is otherwise closed. Salinas applies techniques honed through national floral competitions and regional industry leadership to balance weight distribution in tall standing sprays, casket saddles, and celebration baskets, ensuring each assembly maintains structural stability throughout services.

Daily order fulfillment operates Monday through Saturday, accommodating same-day local delivery for standard orders placed within morning cutoffs. When coordinating custom wedding florals, corporate gatherings, or extensive memorial tributes, clients are advised to initiate consultations at least one to two weeks in advance. Providing clear vessel specifications, budget ranges, and delivery location access details during intake ensures immediate feasibility assessments and accurate pricing without post-production surprises.
